Tourism of Zhambyl region

Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan has great potential for tourism development, saying experts. There’s a unique complex Akyrtas that is included in UNESCO World Heritage List.

Other touristic attractions are the mausoleum of Babaji Khatun, Karahan mausoleum complex Tekturmas (X-XIV century) and picturesque gorges of Koksay.

At the moment more than 42 travel agencies are working in the region. There’re also 5 health resorts, 10 children's camps, recreation areas and 5 yurt camps. Travel companies are actively developing tourist routes, which can be interesting as for foreigners as for local peoples.
