Altyn-Emel

  One of the most beautiful national parks - Altyn-Emel is located in the valley of the River Ili, in the territory of Almaty region of Kazakhstan. Park was organized on April 10, 1996 in order to preserve the archaeological, historical and cultural monuments, a unique natural complex, rare and endangered species of animals and plants, as well as the development of ecological tourism. Its total area is 520,200 hectares.

  There are sand-desert, mountain and desert clay-landscape complexes in the park. Here you can see about 1,800 species of plants, 60 of them are rare forms of the Ili-Balkhash basin and 21 species are listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan. There are also 56 species of animals which are listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan, including 12 species of birds, 10 species of mammals, 25 species of insects, 3 species of fish and one species of reptiles. The list of rare animals also includes gazelle, wild ass and argali. The climate is acutely continental.

  Having beeb here, you can visit at least three interesting places: "Singing Dunes" is sand dune of 1.5 km long and up to 130 m; Besshatyr mounds (31 mounds of various sizes); Ak-Tau mountains (White mountains). It is very beautiful and picturesque place with different colors: white, red, yellow, orange and gray tints. National park Altyn Emel is interesting and fantastic place where you can see many different rare animals and plants.
